JJ’s Restaurant

Tuscan Wine Bar

JJ's Restaurant was a Kansas City corner stone until it burned down in 2013. Now, it's back to delight its customers. Reimagined and updated, the new JJ's is a replica of the original restaurant on The Country Club Plaza, mimicking a wine bar in Italian wine country.

Though the original restaurant was lost, we wanted to hold on to its warmth and spirit. This revival has plenty of new features, but still mentions parts of the first establishment.

The bell shaped lighting is just one of the touches that mimics the original restaurant. The mural over the bar is an original piece detailing the restaurant's life and character, made by a local artist Mike Savage. We chose terra-cotta flooring and rustic details like the faux wood beams to create the feeling of a Tuscan wine bar as well as the warmth of the original restaurant. The focal point of the dining room is our gorgeously distressed walnut barn doors.

We were thrilled and honored to work on this project!!
